🌼 Spring Refresh: Your Daylight Saving Time Home To-Do List

When we spring forward for Daylight Saving Time, it’s also the perfect reminder to give your home a quick seasonal refresh. A few simple maintenance tasks now can help prevent bigger issues later—and keep your home comfortable as the warmer months approach.

Here’s a quick Spring To-Do List we recommend for residents throughout the South Bay.

🛠 A Quick Home Maintenance Check

Check exterior light bulbs and timers: Longer days mean your exterior lighting schedule may need adjustment. Replace any burned-out bulbs and reset timers so lights turn on and off at the appropriate times.

Flush your water heater: Sediment can build up over time and reduce efficiency. Flushing the tank annually helps your water heater run more efficiently and can extend its lifespan.

Change HVAC filters: Replacing your HVAC filter every few months improves air quality and keeps your system running efficiently as we head into warmer weather.

Clean windows and screens: Spring sunshine is much nicer through clean glass. Remove screens, rinse away dust and pollen, and wipe down window tracks.

Check for leaks and water intrusion: Take a quick look under sinks, around toilets, and near windows for any signs of moisture or leaks. Catching small issues early prevents bigger repairs later.

🧹 Simple Spring Household Refresh

Daylight Saving Time is also a great reminder for a few easy household resets:

• Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

• Replace your toothbrush and household sponges

• Rotate or wash bedding and pillows

• Declutter closets and donate unused items

• Wipe down baseboards and ceiling fan blades

• Clean refrigerator shelves and check for expired items

🌞 A Fresh Start for Spring

A little seasonal maintenance goes a long way in keeping your home safe, efficient, and comfortable. If you notice anything unusual—such as leaks, appliance issues, or electrical problems—please report it early so it can be addressed quickly.

From all of us at Babcock, we wish you a bright and refreshing start to spring here in the beautiful South Bay!
